FAQ: Physiotherapy
Do I need a Doctor's referral?
No!
All you need to do is call me and I will arrange an appointment for you.
If you are covered by personal insurance such as BUPA, then you will need to check your individual insurance reuirements, as some do ask for a GP referral first.
What do I need to wear?
As I will have to treat many areas of the body, it would be appropriate to wear something that will allow access to these areas, such as shorts, vest, etc, however I use towels where necessary to maintain discretion.
Is there parking at the practice?
There is limited parking at the surgery, so if it is full please find parking at the public parking near Halfords in Lichfield Street, or at ASDA. Please DO NOT park on the yellow lines (there's a grumpy old troll who likes to put clamps on cars).
Do you use massage?
I use a specialised technique called Myofascial Release Massage which works on the tissues in the body commonly the cause of most pain. This is new in the UK but I have been using this with great success for over 15 years and now teach it to other Physiotherapists. It is a great accompaniment to Acupuncture or TENS and has miraculous effects on muscles strength.
